Joys and Concerns and October Birthdays

Concerns:

Soj. Wanieta Iness had some surgery a few days ago. She is now recovering at home. Please keep her in prayer for her continued recovery.

Please keep all our Sojourners who will be traveling northwards for OES Grand Chapter (and thus will be excused from the WSOJ Starlight Shrine #1 meeting on Saturday, October 4) in prayer for their safe journey and may they safely return home!

Subject: Supreme Family Sadness

Dear Sojourners:

Just heard from Soj. Anna Rhoads, SMOB, that her mother passed away this morning. She had been very ill for the past 4 weeks. I know no funeral details except that she is to be taken to Liberty, Indiana for services and burial. Please remember Anna and Dusty in your thoughts and prayers and do send a word of sympathy. This has been a very sad year for them.

Concern for Soj. Kit Trochtenberg on Sept. 1, 2009

Please hold Soj. Kit Trochtenberg in prayer. She is home from surgery, but she has had complications. Her husband, Herb reports, "She is doing well now and is feeling a lot better now she is home. Still a lot of pain in her foot and that's going to be a while...

It's going to be fun around here being a 2 story house and she will have to be off that foot for about 2 to 3 months..."

More Later.

Joys for September 1, 2009

Please add Soj. Norma Petterson to the September birthday list as her birthday is on the 16th. Happy Birthday, Norma!

Joy!!!

Soj. Roger Noyes is still very medically fragile; however, he has regained his will to live. He is currently in a Long-Term Acute Care facility in Portland, OR. He will remain there for an undetermined amount of time and then from there he and his wife, Leigh, will be moving to an assisted living facility that is literally right next door to a local hospital where he will be able to continue his dialysis treatments. It was one of the facilities that I had an opportunity to visit while in Portland a couple of weeks ago. They were so nice that while we were there, they even fed us (Leigh, Soj. Wendy Jackson and myself) breakfast so we could see the quality of their food. We had waffles with fresh strawberries, eggs, bacon and various beverages.
