Joys and Concerns Catch-up as of 11 Feb 2010

STARLIGHT SHRINE #1, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
JOYS:

It was called to my attention that Soj. Lucille "Mom-a-Sone" Kubic, who was honored at the Starlight Shrine #1 WSOJ meeting this past Saturday with the Continuous Service Award, is also a Charter Member of Starlight Shrine #1, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Soj. Jean Castro reports that she is feeling better from her recent knee surgery. Please keep her in prayer for continued recovery.

Soj. Wendy Welch's recent medical procedure went well. It was great to see her at the meeting this past Saturday.

Soj. Wanieta Iness, Worthy Organist, was looking well and doing better when I saw her at church the other day.

Soj. Roger Noyes reports that he is feeling better and getting stronger each day. He continues with three times a week dialysis treatments.

SUPREME JOYS:

Jay Sade, SAWOS, reports that Linda recently had spinal surgery that went very well and she is now out of pain. She wants to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Keep them up. They definitely help.

STARLIGHT SHRINE #1, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
CONCERNS:

I received an email note today from Soj. Monie Mendoza that when they went to visit Soj. Dor Jahnke at the Silver Hills Rehab Center, they found out that she is back in the hospital.

Please also keep Soj. Sharene Parini, Worthy Shepherdess, in prayer while she confronts these challenges along with her mom, Soj. Dor, especially since Soj. Sharene has her own physical challenges she is handling.

Soj. Faun Olsen has been in our prayers for recent medical issues.

Soj. Chris DiGuilio was supposed to have surgery in January; however, it was postponed. She's still been having a lot of back pain while she waits.

LEBANON SHRINE #93, MT. VIEW, CALIFORNIA
CONCERNS:

Soj. Dode Schubert, Second Hand Maid, fell and dislocated her shoulder. Her arm is in a sling and she is at home recuperating.

Soj. Clara Porter, PWHP of Lebanon Shrine No. 93, took God's Hand on January 2, 2010.

HEBRON SHRINE #6, SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA
CONCERN:

Soj. Yvonne Lee was robbed, shot and killed on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.

She was taking one of her co-workers home from work. She was the Assistant Director of Shreverport Green which hires at-risk teenagers to help them get back on the right road to becoming productive citizens rather than a burden to the community. Soj. Yvonne was a very sweet, well-liked person who never had anything bad to say about others. She went out of her way to help whenever she could.

Soj. Yvonne had just recently became a member of Hebron Shrine #6 in Shreveport, and was starting to become very active in our Shrine. She filled in wherever we needed her, and was trying to learn more about our work. Soj. Yvonne was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

Note: If I have missed a recent (since January 2010) Joy or Concern that pertains to you, please notify either myself or Soj. Kathy Bruck, Worthy Chaplain, so we can get the word out.

I have tried to get the fonts to all match, but when I copy and paste from the email messages, the text continues to retain its original formatting. That is why all the notice sections are different sizes.
