Congratulations on your election as Vice Mayor. What a thrill! It will be a great experience for you I know and a lot of work.
My father-in-law was elected to his City Council at the age of 80 and worked extremely hard (including building a new city hall) for the City until his death in 1982. He had a business establishment before the depression until he retired in 1976--we found many artifacts when he died of his work to lift the spirits and support those who lived in the city during the good and bad times. He was a gem.
